Your command gives me error 100001: An unknown option was present on the command line.
Maybe you were refering to:
vmafd-cli get-ls-location --server-name localhost
And that outputs:

Which is the correct old psc.
The same error. Vcenter stops working for the client so i restart it to make it work again. I attached logs. Seems AD related.

VMware provides NFR ( not for Resale) Keys to vExpert and partners for LAB purpose.
There must be some other ways to get keys for LAB.

Thanks for the reply. Actually it got me thinking a bit. Where I thought I was 'raising' the level, it looks like I was trying to lower it. I was getting the warning about 'powered on/suspended VMs using the CPU features.
If I select one of the choices below Westmere (Sandy/Ivy Bridge or Haswell) it looks like it will let me proceed. Bit of a rookie error but I haven't been dealing with processor architectures for a while. The CPUs are Xeon E5-2690 v3.
If I disable EVC, will that just open-up all the CPU awesomeness it possibly can?

Accesing VMWare named pipe without administrator rights
On VMWare 11.1.2, I've created a virtual serial port in the guest that is backed by a named pipe on the host side. I've only been able to connect to the VMWare-created pipe on the host by running my client app with admin rights, however. For me this means I start MATLAB as admin and connect using the .NET named pipe API. When I do this, my application works perfectly. Does anyone have ideas on removing this need to run as admin, without which I get an error?

Network load during searchManagedEntity() requests
Hi,
we are pinging several virtual machines using java api from wmware (library com.vmware.vm25.mo). For each virtual host that we want to ping, the method searchManagedEntity() from inventoryNavigator class is called using our vsphere server as serviceinstance.
We have around 300 such hosts with more or less simultaneous requests.
I could observe network peaks in the client from several megabits per second when no other actitivity is in the client host but the mentioned requests. I can see through wirehark that the TCP packets are coming from the vsphere server and sometimes are TLS packets (we use https to connect to the service instances.)
We have vmware center server 5.5.0 java 1.7
Have you observe similar behaviours on the network or maybe you have some suggestion on the tcp settings in vsphere server ?

Another way to get head room is to clean up Windows. What gets downloaded for an update and what gets replaced isn't automatically cleaned up.
Locate Disk Cleanup, right click on it, select More>Run as Administrator and let it run. I just did that with the latest Insider update and Disk Cleanup can free 17.8 GB of space. Select what you want removed on the list and click OK. To recover even more space, also select More Options and Clean up System Restore and Shadow Copies. You'll be warned about not being able to revert to the previous version of Windows, but you've got a VM with Snapshot options unlike a real PC.

SDK 5.6Release - When can it be expected?
I have a major project on hold pending the release of SDK 5.6 as it is the only release that exposes the Certification Expiration portion of the Federation Setting XML. If anyone has any information on either the release or an alternate method to get the Cert. expiration date, a response would be greatly appreciated.

Setting any kind of logoff task seems to make flexengine.exe quit early and it ends up exporting nothing at all.
The workaround I have is to set "powershell.exe -Command Set-Service tiledatamodelsvc -startupType Disabled; Stop-Service tiledatamodelsvc" as a logoff script via GPO to run before the "flexengine.exe -s" logoff script. This seems to save my tiles every time.
However, now my pinned items don't work. The icons are there, and if I right-click on them, it shows the right app. however, if I left-click I get a prompt saying "Can't open this item. It might have been moved, renamed, or deleted. Do you want to remove this item?"

Regarding pinned itmes, confirm that you are not using Redirected "Programs Menu" or "Roaming AppData". I would contact vmware support on the issue with flexengine quitting early.

I'm not aware of a different binary code for the products, so entering a valid license key - no matter whether this is a production, VMUG, ... license - should be all that's needed to proceed with the current installations.

Re: keyboard/mouse do not attach to p2v vm. Okay for all other vms.
If you remove keyboard and mouse driver using devicemanager the system will redetect the devices on next reboot and would automatically assign Windows standard drivers - or use drivers from the vmware-tools.
In both cases I doubt that you need Win7 install media

The problem with the taskbar pinned items was that I wasn't capturing this:
<AppData>\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
If you don't have that along with the "taskband" reg key, then the pinned taskbar items don't work.
I'm going to stick with solution 2 for now as it seems to be working better for me than solution 1 right now. I'll keep the logoff command in GPO for now until I find out why logoff tasks don't seem to be working here.

8.5 Keeps crashing
About every 30 minutes to an hour it crashes. Its good that it only takes two seconds to reload but man is it annoying. Please fix it I only had a crash once a week maybe with the previous version.
