Windows 10 on Workstation 12/12.5
My host is Mageia Linux 5.
XP guest works smoothly in all respects.
Win 10 x32 can see smba shares on the LAN but not those of the host machine.
Win 10 denies the accuracy of the credentials but the local folders (as shares) can be accessed on another LAN system.
The shared folders drives show up (for example) as G^% instesd of G: and programs attempting to access them are unhappy.
Any fix?

Just a little info I am using Autocad 2017 only and nothing else in Windows 10. It just happens at random times. Something I am doing nothing except moving the mouse. Sometimes I am drawing a line.

We tested with 7.0.1 and 7.0.0 with no joy. TheNuts mentioned a specially fixed 6.2.2 Agent that worked for him. I would like to know if this fix was included in any of the 7.0 Agents (including 7.0.2 that dropped today). To get around this problem we took the USB printers away from our power users and gave them low-end networked printers.

Good afternoon, if your manual check verifies that your hardware, firmware, and driver are all on the HCL; I would go with that. It has come up a few times on the forums that the HCL check can fail even though it should not. Mostly due to typos that are soon fixed. I believe you can refresh the HCL data and try again. So can I deploy the appliance on the same server as ESXi runs on, or is this a different machine? I would need a working vSphere client in the first place in order to deploy, right?

Re: Can't access the Internet?
On any of the machines I have installed Workstation* or VirtualBox I have never been asked to restart for network reasons after installation. (* If you choose to install the enhanced keyboard support then a restart will be required to complete installation.) It may be something specific to your hardware and/or drivers that requires the restart. (VirtualBox momentarily disconnects the network to install the driver but that's all I've experienced.)

Well bummer. Doesn't appear to be working for me. Anything special you had to do? I just replaced the svdriver.sys file in the "program files (x86)\cloudvolumes\agent directory.

You must replace the file in C:\windows\system32\DRIVERS

Ah ok that makes more sense. I wasn't sure if there was something that would load it from there. My next step was to just replace it in the installer iso and try a reinstall. I'm guessing that would have worked too. Thanks for the help!

Well, I'm glad to hear! But for some reason in my very first pc, which is really old, I installed virtualbox, and it required restart if I was checking some of the network adapters, for that I even checked using ipconfig and It seemed that it was not working. I have an ethernet card, but I don't use ethernet, my internet is through USB cables. And when I tried installing VMWare Workstation 7, because it was Windows XP 32 bit, it didn't disconnect me from the internet.

How do I add multiple items at once to a vRealize widget?
I am trying to make a sparkline graph of CPU usage for 100+ vms. I can't figure out out to configure the widget except by selecting each VM one at a time in the middle selectbox and then clicking on Cpu usage in the right hand selectbox. These VMs are all the same virtual machine folder. If I select the VM folder, the RH selectbox says "No metrics to select."
I can select multiple hosts and then use the "perform multi-select interaction" button, the items get added but the widget comes out blank.
How can I make a sparkline graph for 100+ hosts without having to select each host and its metric one at a time?
This is vRealize Operations Manager 6.2....

Vmware vsphere mgmt interface timeout
Hello,
I have a Dell PowerEdge Server running vmware vsphere esxi 6.x
Before installing VM Vsphere Esxi, I updated all firmwares on server. After install vsphere 6, I have few guest vm running mostly windows.
From time to time, I noticed the management interface on vsphere timesout where I can connect via vsphere client, but the vm guest is running
and can be access via network. Both vm host mgmt and vm guest are connected via the main NIC on the server. This is a test environement.
When the vsphere mgmt interface times out, I can't ping it anymore or access it. I have to login to my cisco switch (3750) and do "clear arp"
then the mgmt interface is live on network. Again, this only happens to the mgmt interface, but vm guest are still running and can talk to
the rest of the network.
how would I go to find out why the mgmt interface times out? I can't find nothing in the alarms. I have changed the nic to a different port on switch
, and same issue. I even change the IP address of the mgmt interface, but same issue.

Vmware disconnected and reconnects frequently
Title says it all, VMware workstation 12.5 keeps disconnecting and then reconnecting frequently. I am running Linux Mint 18 MATE edition as my host and the same OS on my virtual machine. I have everything updated, can't figure out what the problem is. I really need help because it interrupts some of my projects that I am doing on the virtual machine. Does anyone have a solution?
